Dr. Autumn King, DSW, is a child welfare workforce specialist and the founder of Autumn King Consulting (AKC). She helps child welfare professionals, supervisors, and agencies build the skills and systems the work demands.
Dr. King holds a Doctor of Social Work and brings a decade of child welfare experience. She has worked the job at every level: as an agency social worker, as a supervisor, and now as a learning and development supervisor in a foster family agency, where she prepares staff for real practice. She is also a professor of social work and teaches the graduate courses that train the field's next professionals, including Child and Family Welfare. Few trainers see the workforce from as many angles: the classroom, the caseload, the supervisor's chair, and the agency training room.
Her work focuses on where child welfare professionals get the least preparation: leading a team, managing the workload, and using AI responsibly. Agencies and professionals turn to Dr. King because she knows the work from the inside and teaches it in a way people can use the next day.
